Re: The mechanics of emergence
Wed, June 11, 2008 - 7:11 AM1. Diagrammatic reasoning, visual thinking, convivlal representations of the big picture
2. Rich, respectful conversations
3. Good boundaries, good constraints to action
4. Telling stories, narrating
5. Rate of information flow ( elaborated in the intro to the 100th, btw )
6. Organisational reflection
7. Transactions ( relevant levels and scales )
8. Diversity
9. Connectivity
10. Lack of inhibitors ( cynicism and devils advocate are overrated )
11. Intention ( heart - head - hand alignment and coordination )
12. Selforganizing characteristic of true networking
13. Collective intelligence ( this one is still embryonic, will emerge rapidly amidst the old crumbling institutions and governing narratives )
14. Watchful anticipation
15. Convivial metrics ( yup, math and scores and stuff, so as to know we're on track, as if a planetary culture )
The more there gathers small groups and networked patches and coalitions of groups, holding, working with
and applying these principles, the smoother the transition will be.
Some groups that still define themselves as being opposing, are, when viewed through the above,
actually working together. This is still a bit much to fathom for groups who still for a brief spell,
is enjoying safety in being counter-, in being against something. -

Wed, June 11, 2008 - 7:12 AMThe fifteen principles outlined above, can be seen throughout many of the tribes, in the threads,
people connecting, working with them...

Re: The mechanics of emergence
Wed, June 11, 2008 - 7:17 AMLearning about these principles usually goes from the fifteenth, in descending order
to the first.
Action, socially intelligent, collectively intelligent action, eg ashoka.org, usually is in
an ascending order, from the first condition of emergence, through the fifteenth.
Diversity, ecological, dimensional, sentient, cultural, social, cognitive diversity,
is the eighth, the middle condition. The jewel, hidden in plain sight.
The abundant precious beautiful diversity, ours to share and share, for a brief spell on
this planet.
